Frequently Asked Questions

What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?

CSA farmers grow food directly for their local community while their community commits to the financial support of the farm.   Members pay an up-front membership fee and in turn receive a weekly share of the harvest throughout the season.

What is a Work Share?

Work Shares are an agreement between the farmer and a CSA member to exchange a share of the harvest for help with farm chores such as weeding, harvesting, transplanting, and feeding farm animals.  Work shares are a big commitment but also a great opportunity for learning and enjoying the satisfaction of farming.  Work shares typically involve 2-4 hours of work per week over the duration of the season.

What if I can't pick up my box?

If you are unable to pick up your box for the week, please email and let us know as soon as you are able.  We would be delighted if you'd like a friend or family member to pick up for you instead.   If there is room in the cooler we will hold boxes until the next day if you miss them unexpectedly.

Can I change my pickup day?

We ask that you try with in reason to stick to your chosen pickup day.  If you need to change mid-season, please try and give us as much notice as possible so we can harvest accordingly.

Where do I pick up my box?

Boxes will be available at the farm stand at the end of the laneway.  There will be signs and we will generally be there to help sort things out for you.  Your box will be labeled.

What kind of fruits and vegetables can I expect?

Our planting list for the season is listed under "Our Produce" in the menu.  There is a list of all of the annual and some perennial crops we will have available in the season.  We do our best to be as accurate as possible but farming is subject to weather and insects and sometimes we have a crop failure or substitution.  By the same token, if we have a bumper crop, we also share that bounty with members.
